Do you suspect you may have Food Allergies?

Want to find out what your trigger foods are? Take the guesswork out of avoiding dietary food groups.

My practice uses the Food Detective Test, produced by Cambridge Nutritional Sciences. It involves a simple finger-prick blood test. The sample is diluted and the further use of detector and developer solutions, helps identify the presence of food IgG antibodies, giving results within 45 minutes.

  • IgG antibodies may be linked to inflammatory conditions in the body, manifesting in a range of health issues.
  • Once identified, trigger foods can easily be eliminated from your diet.

Food allergy or food intolerance testing appointments are one hour in length. This allows time for results to be obtained while you are there, but also allows time for a short case history to be taken and for further discussion to identify alternative foods that may be included in your diet.

The test is safe and accurate. 59 foods are tested and results distinguish between strong, moderate or minor reactions.

All inclusive price of 95 includes your one hour appointment, the test kit, results, recommendations and handouts.

If you feel you need more extensive testing with a wider variety of foods, or you prefer a test where the analysis is carried out within a laboratory, then Lesley can arrange this for you either through Cambridge Nutritional Sciences or through Metametrix. Prices of alternative tests are available on request.

Following testing, it is important that you maintain a healthy, nutritious diet. By eating a wide variety of foods you will obtain a wide range of nutrients. Rather than concentrate on what you can’t eat, try to concentrate on all the good things you can eat.

Remember, if you have a medical condition or are on medication, it is always advisable to discuss any proposed change of diet with a health professional.
